Guatemala Rio Azul

This coffee comes from Coop Rio Azul in the remote western Guatemalan town of Jacaltenango, a cooperative with 210 members, including 43 women. The cooperative, founded in 1967, is known for producing high-quality coffee under the renowned “Huehuetenango” mark. The members, all from the Mayan Jacaltec group, live within a 1.5-hour walk to the mill, ensuring complete control over quality. The coffee is carefully processed from picking to sun-drying, resulting in consistently pungent dark chocolate aromas, sweet lime acidity, plum notes, and a long, lingering finish of delicately balanced flavours of black tea.
